It is a glittery visual resource that can be used as a distracting meditative technique for children and adults.
Equipment needed: Small jar or bottle, water, glitter glue & dry glitter.
Instructions: In a small jar or bottle, mix a tablespoon of glitter glue with hot water (if water is cold, the glue won’t break down). Stir or shake until the glue is dissolved. Add some dry glitter and shake. Don’t add too much glitter glue as it will get too thick and the glitter won’t drop. You can always add more at a later stage if you want.
When you have created the calming jar shake it, take a deep breath and watch the glitter fall to the bottom.
It is an opportunity to pause and let things settle, literally. Now how do you feel?
